We have a 'hands on' approach to learning in Nursery!
We have a wide variety of activities that children are able to access either supported by an adult or independently. Regular activities include sand and water play, mark making activities using paint, pencils, chalk and felt tips and access to play dough based tasks.
We also have regular access to outdoor activities and our outdoor area is full of exciting learning opportunites!
This year nursery have started to offer full time places which is very exciting and means that the children are now staying for their lunch. The children have been working very hard at lunchtime and are now able to choose their own meal, carry their own tray, and are getting much better at using cutlery. Nursery children have been working hard with Mr Hatton in PE on Monday afternoons and in gross motor phonic sessions on Monday and Tuesday mornings as well in dancing on Friday mornings with Hannah where everyone tries hard to be chosen for Dancer of the week. This half term our topic has been what do I need to know to be happy at school and the children have settled in well getting to know each other and the teachers. Nursery children take home a library book and a reading book every week and bring them back to be changed. After the October half term our learning question is going to be who are my family and what do we celebrate?
All of our learning is based around Learning Challenge questions. This year our questions are:
