Welcome to Year 4!

Welcome to Year 4!

Welcome to Year 4! We're really working hard as we build on our learning from Year 3.

Our learning is through Learning Challenge questions and we have a number of questions which we investigate over the year. This year our questions are:

  • Is Ancient Greece really a myth?
  • What makes the Earth angry?
  • Why were the Romans so powerful and what did we learn from them?
  • Why is Manchester a cool place to live?

Over the course of the year we will also be looking at different topics in science such as habitats and electricity, and learning a new language - French.  The maths topics that we will be covering will include place value, calculations and data handling.

We have a weekly music session with Mr Byers, who will be working with us on several pieces of music, as we become more skilled with our brass instruments.

We have a PE session every Tuesday and we also go swimming on a Thursday afternoon. We must remember our swimming and PE kits every week; otherwise we cannot take part in the swimming lesson.

In Year 4, our day starts at 8.50am. We have a break in the morning when we complete the daily mile and then can buy fruit and milk from the Snack Trolley.  Our lunchtime is from 12.15pm to 1.00pm. Our day finishes at 3.10pm.

Our class teacher is called Miss Bancroft.
