Welcome to Year 4!

Welcome to Year 4!

Our class teacher is Miss Wheal and our teaching assistant is Mrs Sutton.

Our English lessons this year will be based on key texts linked in with other curriculum subjects. Our learning is based around key lead questions based on History, Geography and Science. The questions we will be asking are:

Who were the Romans and what did we learn from them?

What happens to the food we eat?

What makes the Earth Angry?

Why is the music of a famous musician loved by so many?

How can we recreate the wonder of Ancient Egypt?

How would you cope without electricity for a day?

We will also continue our learning from Year 3 in subjects such as Maths, MFL, PE, Music and PSHE.

This year:

PE will take place on a Monday.

Music will take place on a Monday.

Swimming will take place on a Thursday.

Homework will be given out Thursday to be returned on a Monday.

Brass club and multisports will take place on Tuesday after school.

Natural Disasters

Year 4  visited Castleshaw and completed a range of geography activities. The focus of the day was based on what a map looks like and how to read a map.  They also looked at setting different maps, which was quite tricky. They then completed some orienteering to aid  with these skills. Overall, they learnt lots of new geographical skills in the outdoors and really enjoyed the day.
