Welcome to Nursery where learning to be successful at school starts. The Nursery teacher is Mrs Glenn and the TAs are Miss Hornby and Miss Norton. We have a wide range of activities every day that children access with a strong emphasis on developing children’s language skills and building fine and gross motor skills. We learn inside and outside, independently, with an adult and in groups. Children have lots of fun at nursery, start to make their own friends and feel part of the school family. We have very high expectations for our children and expect them to work hard, be proud of what they achieve, be kind to others and understand that they are real school children with important learning to do.
The children are all full time and stay for their dinner, this an important part of the day's learning. The children make choices about which food to eat, carry their own trays and practice their cutlery skills and table manners. We have a large bank of ideas for learning on our DB primary platform and I will be adding links to the stories we are using and ideas to support your child’s learning at home.
The Nursery children have a PE lesson and a musical beginnings session on a Monday and a dance lesson on a Friday. All the children have a lovely book bag and take home a library book and a reading book every week.
