Welcome to Year 6!

Welcome to Year 6!

Our class teacher is Miss Leggett and our teaching assistants are Miss Beswick, Miss Broadbent and Mrs Beswick (Wednesdays).

We have had a great start to the year so far and are enjoying being back together after the summer break.

In writing this year we will be studying a range of different writing genres based on a variety of videos, picture books and novels. Our reading lessons will focus on using reading gems and continuing to develop our fluency. In maths we will be using Mathshed alongside other materials to develop our mathematical skills.

Our wider curriculum will be taught in blocks throughout the year, please see the curriculum overview for more information.

PE is on Monday afternoons and children should come to school in their PE kit. This term, dance will take place on a Friday and PE kit should also be worn.

Homework: children in year 6 are expected to complete reading at home, spellings (Spelling Shed) and times tables (Mathshed). Additional homework may be set throughout the year.

Spelling tests take place on a Friday and new spellings will be available on Spelling Shed every Friday.
