Blue Cross Dog Safety Assembles

On the 16th September we were very lucky to have a visit from The Blue Cross. They led a whole school assembly and an Early Years assembly all about dog safety. The children also received an information leaflet and stickers to share with parents at home.

We learned that when meeting a new dog, to ask the owner if it is OK to stroke it, to let the dog sniff your hand first and then to stroke the dog on the shoulder or the chest.

We learned that if you are knocked to the ground, you should roll into a ball with your face in your hands and make no sound.

We learned that if a strange dog runs up to you, to stand still, make no noise, drop any food you are carrying, fold your arms and look away. Then move away slowly, never run.
