Spelling Bee

The St Hugh’s Spelling Bee has gone from strength to strength, and we have just held our third consecutive school contest for Key Stage 2. The Bee, sponsored by Madeleine Lindley and supported by The Rotary Club of Oldham Metro, has again motivated our children to learn a range of tricky spelling patterns introduced by the government in 2014. The competition was tough but each class managed to whittle its finalists down to three worthy contenders:

Year 3

    Jason B

    Ashleigh L

    Tayo A

Year 4

   Natalie

   Ellen L

   Bradley H

Year 5

   Kobi H

   Zaneta S

Year 6

   Zahra R

   Nossi T

   Dylan O

After a very tense afternoon, Tayo  was declared the overall winner and went forward to the Oldham Grand Final, involving many schools across the borough in an exciting event at the Mayoral Chambers on Tuesday, 27th June. Tayo did a fantastic job in representing St Hugh’s and managed to spell some extremely tricky words. Well done Tayo – St Hugh’s is very proud of you!

The St Hugh’s Key Stage 1 Final will be held on Wednesday, 12th July 2017. Good to all our finalists!

Reception

   Harry Cr

   Leighton B

   Mia L

Year 1
